Terms of service
Last updated: 18 August 2026
These terms cover your use of MyShopGuard. By creating an account you agree to them. We have kept them short and plain.
What the service does
MyShopGuard records the stock, sales and money of your shop and compares those records so it can show you what does not add up. It is a record-keeping and monitoring tool. It does not process your customers' payments, and money from your sales never passes through us.
Your account
- You must be 18 or older and use the service for a real business.
- Keep your PIN private. Anything done with your login counts as done by you, so give staff their own logins rather than sharing yours.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. The app can only compare the numbers you give it.
- Do not use the service to break the law or to harass anyone.
Your staff and your customers
When you add a staff member or record a customer's details, you are putting other people's information into the service. You confirm that you are allowed to do that, and you remain responsible for how you use it. Please only record what your business actually needs.
Findings are for you to judge
When the app reports missing stock or missing money, it is reporting a difference between your records and your counts. It is information for you to investigate, not proof that any person did anything. Decisions you make about your staff, including accusations, discipline or dismissal, are entirely yours. Please check the facts before you act.
Your data belongs to you
Your shop records are yours. We store and process them to run the service, as described in our privacy policy. We do not sell them. You can ask for a copy or for deletion at any time.
Payment
- Your first shop is free for 3 days. Additional shops need a plan from the start.
- Plans are billed monthly in advance through Paystack and renew by themselves until you stop them.
- You can stop renewals any time from the My Plan screen. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Payments already made are not refundable, except where the law requires it or where we clearly failed to provide the service.
- If a payment fails, we may lock the app until it succeeds. Your data is not deleted.
- We will tell you in the app before any price change, at least 30 days ahead.
Availability
We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will never be unavailable. Parts of the app keep working without network and sync later. We may change or remove features as the product develops.
Limits of our responsibility
The service is provided as it is. We are not liable for business losses, lost profit, lost stock, or losses caused by decisions you make based on what the app reports. Where we are found liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that is used to harm others or our systems. We will tell you why when we can.
Changes to these terms
If we make a significant change we will update the date above and tell you in the app. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes are for the Nigerian courts.
